Recently, the Panama Canal has been dealing with a severe drought, impacting international trade and global shipping. As of August 25th, more than 130 vessels are stranded in the canal.
As one of the vital global shipping routes, the Panama Canal connects various freshwater bodies, serving as a link between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The drought has led to a reduction in the canal’s transit capacity, prompting the canal management to implement restrictions.
