Speaking about tariffs on imported cars and the impact of foreign countries on the U.S. auto industry, Trump said, “We’re going to put 100 percent tariffs on every car that comes in, and if I’m elected, you won’t be able to sell these things.” He added, “As it stands now, if I’m not elected …… it’s going to be a ‘holocaust’ for this country.”
When asked about the meaning of “carnage,” Trump’s campaign pointed out that auto manufacturing is a mainstay industry in Ohio, and that Biden’s policies would bring an economic “carnage” to the auto industry and auto workers.
